The Little Debate Handbook was written as an instruction manual for high school students and beginning coaches with little or no academic debate experience.
- The handbook was written with the understanding that many debate programs and individual students lack coherent instructional materials. The handbook is meant to be an inexpensive way for students and teachers to find out about debate and to begin debating.
- The handbook is a beginning to end instructional manual that helps those with little or no experiece to understand the particular nuances of academic debate. Instruction on terminology, time limits, procedures, as well as how to structure arguments specifically for the academic debate round are all included.
