Format
By popular demand, the Teacher’s Edition now comes in two formats. The paper format includes a full electronic copy of all materials (CD + DVD as described below) as well as a print copy of all materials organized by day. The paper format costs $50. Should you want only a electronic copy, it is $30, and is fully described below.
Regardless of which version of the Teacher’s Edition you receive, you will get a full electronic copy of all materials. This includes one CD and a DVD demonstration round. The materials on CD are fully editable. If you want to change an assignment, or to further elaborate, you can simply open the document. You won’t have to retype the whole thing or suffer through blurry photocopies. If you have the CD, you can always re-print an original. Additionally, there are PowerPoint lectures for each lesson. If your school has that technology, you can present the lecture on a computer with a projection screen. If you do not have that technology, you can edit the slides on the computer as you like and then print them onto transparancies.
If you feel that you are not-so-computer-saavy, don’t worry! The instructions included on the CD are designed for those with little understanding of computers. The only programs you will need are Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel. All of these programs are commonly available at most every school. Also, most newer Macintosh compusters can open most of these file formats.
When you open the CD, it will look like the picture below. You will begin by opening the timeline.
In the timeline, you will find that each day reccomends a particuar type of exercise. Each type of exercise (Activities, Lectures, Discussions, Assignments, Tests or Homework) has a designated file. Simply access that file folder and then access the correctly titled file.
